CaRD Connector — SharePoint Online edition

This edition turns a SharePoint Online library in Microsoft 365 into a content repository for SAP S/4HANA. The difference to plain object storage: afterwards the documents are visible and searchable inside the tenant — with browser preview, with permissions from your existing structure and with the familiar Microsoft 365 search.

The connection runs through CMIS 1.1 (browser binding); the SAP DMS certification (TCK) has been passed. For classic document storage the same connector is available for SAP ArchiveLink.

Metadata that actually arrives in SharePoint

The attributes from S/4 — document type, object reference, classification — are written into indexed library columns. That allows filtering and sorting in SharePoint like for any other document, and views for individual departments become a matter of configuration rather than development.

One name, two worlds

So that files preview correctly in the SharePoint interface, the physical file receives a matching extension while the name S/4 uses to address the document stays untouched. That sounds like a detail but decides whether a record can be retrieved from SAP again — with us it is solved and running in production.

Optional: AI classification

In addition we connect an AI classification that categorises stored documents outside S/4 and writes the results into the library columns. That way even someone who does not know the SAP document number finds the right file.
