Material Variants add-on for SAP®

Configurable products reduce the variety of master data needed for product description and procurement — but in pre-production, warehousing and downstream services the uniqueness of an item is what counts. A whole range of business applications around variant configuration builds on such unambiguous structures and identifiers. That is exactly what this add-on delivers.

You conveniently define under which conditions and at which point in time material variants should be generated automatically. Two paths are available: interactively while creating a sales order, or through a dedicated transaction outside sales order processing — each starting either from the sales order or from the configurable material.

The variant is created in the sales order; table-driven follow-up activities then run: creating a BOM reference, a routing reference, generating a condition record (PR00) and further steps. Downstream processes become simpler, faster and cheaper.

The add-on is available at a fixed price and can be rolled out cost-effectively. Individual requirements are covered project- and customer-specifically — the architecture makes such extensions straightforward.
