SAP® Configuration Template add-on
Store ready-made characteristic combinations as templates and load them in the sales order in one go — instead of configuring from scratch every time.
Anyone configuring similar products frequently enters the same characteristic values over and over. This add-on lets you load and save a template configuration inside the configuration — from the sales order, for instance. Ready-made combinations of characteristic values are stored under a matchcode and made available to a defined group of users.
The implementation is deliberately flexible and works across all areas of variant configuration and across SAP modules. Customizing controls whether a specific template applies to a customer group, an individual customer, a particular material or an equipment.
The side effect is commercially interesting: because standard combinations are available as templates, the number of material variants kept in the system often drops — while quotations and sales orders are captured faster and more comfortably.
