ZSE01 — Transport management & consolidation

For acceptance testing in a consolidation environment, changed repository objects and customizing entries have to move from development into the test environment. In the standard SAP scenario you release the transport with its tasks and import it into consolidation first.

The catch: until testing finishes, all previously locked elements are free for further changes. Another developer pulling such an element into a completely unrelated task during that window is neither controllable nor rare — and often only surfaces when the transport is due for production.

With transaction ZSE01 you transport your work list into the consolidation environment as often as you like without giving up the object locks. You run as many test iterations as you need and never risk pushing untested code into productive systems.

You are entirely free in selecting the elements for this preliminary transport — down to individual table keys. The import into the consolidation environment happens immediately and fully automatically. Setup is simple and requires no deep transport system expertise.
