CaRD Download Tool for S/4HANA
Join two tables and export them without commissioning a CDS view or applying for database access.
Every department knows the situation: you would need the data from two or three tables, joined on a shared field — once for an analysis or regularly for a third-party system. The official route runs through a CDS view, meaning development, a transport and several weeks of waiting. The unofficial route runs through database access, which for good reason does not exist.
The CaRD Download Tool closes that gap: it runs entirely in the ABAP layer and works with the permissions of the logged-in user. You pick tables, define the join across the shared fields, narrow the result with selection conditions and export it. No custom CDS view, no access to the HANA database, no development request.
One-off or recurring
For a quick analysis the interactive call with a subsequent export is enough. For recurring handovers to third-party systems the same definition can run scheduled in the background and provide the file automatically — yesterday's analysis is next month's as well.
Why this stays safe
Because the tool works in the application layer, all authorisation checks of the system apply — someone sees exactly the data they would be allowed to see anyway. Database access that bypasses those checks is precisely what is not needed. Which tables are available at all is additionally governed by your authorisation concept.
